Headboards for beds can be one of the quickest and least expensive ways to transform a room. Available in many styles, sizes, and materials, headboards are a great decorating alternative if you do not have the room or the desire for a massive bed. They are easy to install, making changes a breeze.
Storage headboards, like all other types, are available in sizes from twin through king. Some are the traditional bookcase bed styling that has been popular for over fifty years. Feminine touches can come from ruffles around the edges or trim such as lace and ribbons. A more masculine option is to select bright colors or bold patterns, with or without decorative button tufting.
Traditional wood headboards can be found in all finishes from ash to mahogany. You can also select any amount of carved details, from none to elaborate scrolling. Some combine metal accents with the wood for a feel that can range from old world charm to futuristic.
Woven headboards, made of products such as rattan or wicker, add a light, airy feel to the room. They are available in natural finishes or painted in many colors, including white. Some have intricate patterns or designs woven into the surface. Many offer a Victorian look, while others have a decidedly tropical feel.
Leather covered headboards are durable and easy to clean. Most are offered in solid colors, often with buttons. They are easy to match to other furniture, and can also be a custom item, covered with the exact leather as other pieces. Leather is commonly used in traditional and contemporary styles.
Contemporary styles featuring chrome in conjunction with other materials, such as wood, are a quick way to brighten a dark room. These are seldom found in traditional shapes, but are usually a geometric design or broad oval. Tempered glass inserts or mirrors are sometimes used as elements.
No matter what their tastes, decorators can find headboards for beds that will be perfect the rooms in question. From country to Victorian, twin to king, there is surely one that you will love.
